Haigh Hall

Close to the town centre, there is a glorious country park surrounding a large stone building known locally as Haigh Hall. These images were taken before the renovation work started.
A long driveway leads you up to the entrance with gravel parking bays and large lawns on either side.

The rear of the hall is just as stunning, the stonework being brought back to life with some considerate cleaning - a few windows and frames to replace at this point, though.

The exterior of one of the grandest rooms in the hall is the Ballroom exterior, here on the corner, looking out over the town of Wigan.

Of course, the hall sits in a large country park and all around it you can see lawns, fields, hedges and trees which help to create the spectacular scenery associated with it.

I briefly mentioned the renovation work, and the image below shows the massive scaffolding structure that covered the hall completely, so high it pokes through the trees and can be seen from all around for miles.
It will be really interesting when all the work is completed - Haigh Hall will be reborn again.
